Free Tech Institute (FREETI) is a non-profit organization. We advocate for a libertarian philosophy focused on technology, entrepreneurship and development based decentralized technology. Through our programs, we discuss topics such as privacy protection, prosperity through free market based on the web, intellectual property rights, cryptocurrency, anti-surveillance, responsible internet use, and digital inclusion . Our aim is to foster a more decentralized Burundian web environment through education and
networking.

Why do we exist?

We have found that the majority of Burundian internet users are unaware of information related to the libertarian philosophy of the technological domain, they use information and communication technologies in complete ignorance of their rights. However, ICTs are becoming more and more a necessity of everyday life. Indeed, Burundians must master the world of ICTs in order to fully exploit them in complete safety and full enjoyment of freedom.
